THC Helps Dementia Patients With Sleep Disturbances

This 2006 study took a look at 6 patients with late-stage dementia who had trouble sleeping due to nighttime agitation caused by their condition. The researchers administered tetrahydrocannabinol in the form of dronabinol to them over the course of 2 weeks. They found that the THC was able to reduce the occurrences of nighttime agitation, and that it caused no observable side effects as well.
