Because patients who struggle with chronic pain conditions often report using marijuana to aid sleep, this 2010 study was done to see whether it really was a good therapeutic option. Researchers administered nabilone, a synthetic cannabinoid which mimic tetrahydrocannabinol, to fibromyalgia patients over the course of 2 weeks. They found that nabilone was tell tolerated, was able to improve sleep, and had only mild side effects such as dry mouth, dizziness, and nausea.
I personally feel that they would have likely seen even less adverse effects had they simply used THC!
