Fibromyalgia Patients Who Use Marijuana Find Symptom Relief

This 2011 study on fibromyalgia and marijuana use directly compared 28 marijuana-using fibromyalgia patients to 28 non-marijuana using fibromyalgia patients. The researchers did this in order to see marijuana's impact on patient's pain and quality of life. They found that marijuana had "beneficial" effects on fibromyalgia symptoms such as pain and stiffness, that it significantly increased "feelings of well-being," and that marijuana users scored higher on assessments of mental health.
